About the Citizen’s Survey Center:

The Citizen’s Survey Center is a tool to find out what the people of Western North Carolina are thinking -and doing- about sustainable energy, environmental and economic issues. We need to learn what facts need to be considered if we are to successfully plan for a sustainable future. So, if you think planning responsibly for the future of WNC doesn‘t matter, you can say so and exit the survey quickly.

In a democracy, everyone is supposed to get a vote. But, while there’s a lot of issues to vote on, there are very few opportunities to actually vote on them, other than voting for our elected officials -and then trusting them to act on issues they may never considered or addressed. Fortunately, you’ve arrived at one place where your ‘vote’ and your voice will count… if enough of us participate.

Our Southern Community’s Citizen Survey is basically an internet ‘voting booth’ for WNC citizens in a non political sense. You can remain anonymous, the only identification data needed is your zip code. No waiting in line, levers or touch screen systems behind curtains, no political parties or campaign slogans. Just answer questions based on your experiences and opinions. There’s no right or wrong answers, simply provide honest information and your personal viewpoints. Soon, you will also be able to sign in for information on specific topics, follow up surveys and ongoing survey results.
